Emergency and Transitional Housing
The King County Housing Authority provides no direct
emergency shelter. If you need emergency or transitional housing immediately,
the following Web sites can be helpful, with either lists of shelters
in King County or information from organizations that provide shelter.
The Community Information Line – (206) 461-3200, (206) 461-3610
TTY or 1-800-621-4636 – is a good entry point to social services
in King County. It provides daily updates on available bed space in
shelters for women and families. The Community Information Line can
also lead you to men’s shelters. The City of Seattle maintains lists of all kinds of resources in the county, from food banks to legal help to job training, at Community Resources Online.
