KCHA operates both Site-based and
Regional waiting lists. Under
this system, applicants select up to two (2) specific Developments or
two (2) Regions in which they would like to live.
The length of time it takes to
reach the top of each waiting list depends upon a number of factors
including items such as:
q turnover
within the selected Development or Region;
q an
applicant’s claimed local preference; and
q date
and time of application
Although KCHA is unable to
determine the exact length of time you will need to wait for a unit to become
available, the WAITING LIST STATUS TOOL below can be used to estimate
expected wait times of each Public Housing Waiting List.
To use the WAITING LIST TOOL:
(1) Follow the steps below to find the
application date of the household who is currently at the top of the selected
waiting list.
(2) Calculate the length of time the applicant has been on the waiting list - this would be a rough
estimate of your expected wait time.
NOTE: THIS
SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS A GUIDELINE - your actual wait
may be shorter or longer, depending upon unit availability and your
claimed/verified preference - as well as that of other applicants currently on
the waiting list.
