OPEN HOUSE FOR TRANSFORMED HARRISON HOUSE IN KENT IS JOYOUS OCCASION

"I think it's safe to say Harrison House is the finest senior-disabled housing in the nation," Kent Mayor Jim White declared at the Sept. 9 event, held in the cafeteria. An audience of close to 100, including dozens of residents, was quick to agree.

Residents were all smiles at the open house for Harrison House on Sept. 9.

The King County Housing Authority completed $3.9 million worth of exterior and interior renovations to Harrison House, a 94-unit high-rise that offers affordable housing to seniors in downtown Kent. The National Equity Fund, Inc., a nonprofit organization, committed investment dollars to make the project possible.

At the open house, KCHA Executive Director Stephen Norman, National Equity Fund Vice President M.A. Leonard and Harrison House resident Betty Ann Schelter joined Mayor White in making brief remarks.
