Housing Options in Tukwila

The King County Housing Authority provides the following rental housing and rental assistance programs in Tukwila.

Section 8 Vouchers

Section 8 vouchers help people with low incomes rent homes on the private market. With a voucher, you pay at least 28 percent, but not more than 40 percent (in the first year), of household income for rent and utilities. Subsidized Housing

Subsidized housing – which includes public housing – helps people with low incomes rent apartments they can afford. In most cases, they pay no more than 30 percent of their household's monthly income for rent and utilities. Riverton Terrace

Large apartments within walking distance of Foster High School, Showalter Middle School and Foster Library. Many units have decks or patios, and some have washer and dryer hookups. A playground with equipment and a basektball court are both on site. There are laundry facilities in the community building. Tukwila International Boulevard (State Route 99) is a block away, affording access to shopping.

Moderate-Income Housing

KCHA's moderate-income housing serves people who can pay rent priced closer to normal market rates. Tenants pay a flat rent amount each month, not a percentage of their income. Private companies manage this type of housing. Learn about moderate-income housing.

Villages at South Station

Studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments in a gated community offering easy access to Metro bus service, Link light rail service, and major highways and freeways. Every home includes a full-size washer and dryer, tile countertops, and fitness center access. Many shopping opportunities are available nearby along Tukwila International Boulevard and at Westfield Southcenter.
