Mixed-income housing at Greenbridge in White Center

MTW (Moving to Work) is a HUD designation that gives KCHA local flexibility through waivers from certain HUD regulations.

This flexibility allows us to shape our federally funded programs to better respond to local conditions, streamline operations, and support residents and tenants in their goals of economic self-sufficiency. KCHA was one of the original 39 housing authorities that received MTW flexibility in 2003.

Every year, KCHA proposes a draft plan outlining our MTW goals and activities for the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY). The proposed MTW plan is made available for public comment, then submitted to HUD for approval. At the end of the year, the MTW Annual Report compares KCHA’s performance with the goals identified in the plan.
