Description
The King County Housing Authority will accept Bids from Qualified General Contractors to furnish labor, materials and necessary equipment to perform Fire Alarm System Replacement as listed in the bid documents.
Scope of Work
Harrison House Apartments, located in Kent, was built in 1969. It is a single, four-story wood-frame building over a crawl space. The building consists of 94 units, comprising (7) two-bedroom, one-bathroom units and (87) one-bedroom, one-bathroom units. Hallways on floors one, two, and three have dropped-lid ceilings.
The main control panel of the current fire alarm system is a Honeywell Silent Knight 6820XL located in the main entry on the first floor. A new remote annunciator will also be installed in the maintenance shop on the first floor, replacing the existing one.
All fire alarm control units shall be located in the first-floor riser room or an approved location by the Fire Marshal. The fire alarm contractor must provide the detection and notification systems to replace the fire alarm system (wiring, devices, panel). The existing system will remain operational until the new system is installed, tested, and approved by the authority having jurisdiction.
