Software Conversion & Service Delays, September-November 2026
Aug.
3,
2026
Beginning in September, 2026, KCHA is moving to a different housing and financial management system called Yardi. The updated system will improve how we manage important information and support Housing Choice Voucher program operations.
From September 9 through October 5, KCHA will move data from the old system into Yardi. During this transition, some landlord services and payment schedules will temporarily change.
KCHA will continue providing the services landlords and tenants rely on, but some services may take longer than usual.
KCHA staff are learning and adjusting to the new system. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we get Yardi up and running.
Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) changes
- Current landlords with active HAP contracts will receive one HAP payment on October 1.
- There will be no weekly HAP payments during October. Weekly payments will resume November 1.
- If a tenant moves into your unit or submits a moving request during September or October, the HAP payment for that new move-in or request will be processed November 1.
- New income adjustments submitted from September 9 through October 23 will be processed in November.
Landlord Portal Changes
The current landlord portal will close October 1.
HAP payment details will be sent by email until the new portal is open in Spring 2027. Landlords without an email address on file will receive information by mail.
After the new landlord portal launches, landlord payments will be made by direct deposit instead of paper check.
Make sure KCHA has your current contact and payment information:
- Email address
- Mailing address
- Banking information
Keeping this information current will help prevent delays during the transition.
