KCHA awarded more than $600,000 for Family Self-Suficiency Program

The King County Housing Authority is pleased to announce that we have received a grant of $607,615 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program in 2026.
In total, 18 Public Housing Authorities in the State of Washington received nearly $4 million in federal funds for Family Self-Sufficiency.
This first round of HUD funding awards for FSS ensures that KCHA's five staff coordinators can continue their work helping low-income residents and tenants meet their financial goals, including efforts to pay off debt and fix credit, go back to school, buy a car, or start a business.
