King County Housing Authority Starts $1.6M Stimulus Project in Burien Workers from CDK Construction have begun work on $1.6 million in energy efficiency upgrades and building envelope renovations at Boulevard Manor, a 70-unit public housing complex for seniors and persons with disabilities in the Boulevard Park neighborhood in Burien.  The project is being funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) intended to provide or preserve jobs across America.

HUD announces almost $5.4 million in Recovery Act grants to improve Public Housing for seniors, disabled in Portland, Vancouver, and King County
The King County Housing Authority was awarded almost $4.7 million for projects at 13 complexes. Including today's grants, public housing authorities across the United States have received nearly $4 billion in funding through the Recovery Act.

King count Housing Authority's Greenbridge community in White Center is getting a solar photovoltaic array. The authority said the 213-panel system on nine buildings is the largest residential solar array in the state.

Work Begins on Energy-Efficiency Upgrades at Forest Glen in Redmond
The $1.5 million project will remove old baseboard heaters, replacing them with ductless split system heat pumps. Additionally, the roof, exterior siding, windows, and entry doors will be replaced. New water effiencient toilets, faucet aerators, and showerheads will also be installed.
