New Neighborhoods

Greenbridge and Seola Gardens, located in White Center located just south of the Seattle city line, are two new vibrant mixed-income neighborhoods developed by King County Housing Authority. Barracks-like homes, which once housed World War II defense workers, have been replaced with planned communities with all the bells and whistles of great places to live.

The communities will house up to 1,200 households, both renters and home owners, in attractive, energy-efficient, new homes. Residents enjoy new parks and sidewalks, trails, pea patches, new roads, and state-of-the-art water cleaning ponds, and gardens that protect the surrounding environment from the effects of runoff.

Hundreds of measures that make the communities environmentally friendly have been built into the homes and site improvements. Children can easily access rich education opportunities and get support in their homework and studies. Their parents have access to job search assistance, interview tips, and resume and cover letter help.

Recreation opportunities abound with the Boys & Girls Club,  parks, play fields and a swimming center nearby. A coffee shop at Greenbridge is a gathering place for many.

The Housing Authority, with public and private partners, has invested $250 million in making these first-class urban places where residents thrive and support the overall revitalization of White Center.
