HOPE
VI Family Services
Residents of public housing at Greenbridge have access to
a variety of services that address the needs of an expanding
and economically diverse resident population.
HOPE VI Family Services staff have the capacity to serve residents
who speak Vietnamese, Cambodian, Somali, Khmu and English. KCHA
provides interpreters for residents who speak other languages.
The staff members offer case management experience and maintain
contact with former and current residents.
A Community Builder works closely with residents and local partners
in creating a cohesive community. A Community Builder helps organize
activities and events to promote employment, education and ensure
resident engagement.
The newly renovated
Jim Wiley Community Center houses the Southwest Boys & Girls
Club, YWCA Career Development Center, Neighborhood House and
a Highline Community College classroom.
Future development will
include an adult learning center facility for the YWCA, King
County Library branch and Washington State University
Extension. In addition, the Greenbridge Early Learning Center,
which will be home to Puget Sound Educational Services District’s
Highline HeadStart program, will open in 2010.
