HUD announces almost $5.4 million in Recovery Act grants to improve Public Housing for seniors, disabled in Portland, Vancouver, and King County
The King County Housing Authority was awarded almost $4.7 million for projects at 13 complexes. Including today's grants, public housing authorities across the United States have received nearly $4 billion in funding through the Recovery Act.

HUD awards almost $28.7 million in Recovery Act funds to add new rental units and turn existing units "green" in Bremerton, Eugene, Portland, Seattle, Spokane, and King County
The awards were part of announcement made by HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan of $300 million in competitive grants to 134 housing authorities nationwide. Of those funds, KCHA was awarded almost $11.4 million.
