Project-Based Assistance

The Project-Based Assistance Program provides housing developers and owners with rental subsidies to create affordable housing for very low-income households. If you are a developer, property owner or service provider interested in applying for this assistance, please contact Debbie Canavan Thiele at KCHA as early in your planning as possible at (206) 574-1355 or debbiet@kcha.org.

Opportunities are currently available for owners and developers to contract with KCHA in the following areas:

Transitional Housing for Families

In partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and six other housing authorities in the Puget Sound region, KCHA provides project-based assistance to owners creating transitional housing for low-income families. For more information on the capital and service resources available through the Gates Foundation Sound Families Initiative, visit www.soundfamilies.org.

HOPE VI Replacement Housing

KCHA has a commitment to the community to create new, affordable housing to replace, one-for-one, the subsidized units that will be demolished during the HOPE VI revitalization of Park Lake Homes in White Center. Our partnership with ARCH (A regional Coalition for Housing) allows us to invite applications from project developers on the Eastside, where affordable housing is a critical need. For information about the ARCH application process please visit www.archhousing.org.
