KCHA Business Operations
1. No payments in advance. Work must be performed to receive payment.
2. Payments will be processed within 30 days of receipt of invoice.
3. Materials delivered on site may be invoiced before installation.
4. Certified payrolls must be submitted weekly, even if no work is performed.
5. KCHA may interview up to 10 percent of the workers on a project to check compliance with wage rates by their employer.
6. Contractor must include taxes on labor and materials in bids for tax-credit funded projects.
7. Contractor must include taxes for materials in bids for prevailing wage projects.
8. Contracts must be signed by both parties before work starts.
9. AIA contracts used for many larger-sized construction projects.
10. Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) are used for all consultant and social service bids and for some construction bids.
